Insects in Coron are so huge that scared most out of us. We have seen these insects on our way up to MT. Tapyas. They measured more than half a ruler.

Maquinit Hot Springs

Maquinit hot springs is situated on the far mountains of Coron. According to the locals, the water comes from the volcano.Maquinit means hot, literally hot since the temperature of the water ranges from 38 - 40 degree celcius. Its not just hot but very salty. The water is best suited for ailments like arthritis, etc.

red soil

Coron is rich of rd clay soil or Ultisols. Facts: Ultisols vary in color from purplish-red, to a blindingly bright reddish-orange, to pale yellowish-orange and even some subdued yellowish-brown tones. They are typically quite acidic, often having a pH of less than 5. The red and yellow colors result from the accumulation of iron oxide (rust) which is highly insoluble in water. Major nutrients, such as calcium and potassium, are typically deficient in Ultisols, which means they generally cannot be used for sedentary agriculture without the aid of lime and other fertilizers such as superphosphate. They can be easily exhausted, and require more careful management than Alfisols or Mollisols. However, they can be cultivated over a relatively wide range of moisture conditions. Source: wikipedia
